Overview
5G-Victori aimed to execute large-scale field trials to verify advanced 5G use cases across diverse vertical industries, specifically focusing on rail, energy, media, and the factories of the future. The project successfully transformed specialized, closed networks into open 5G environments where resources and functions could be shared on-demand.
Extended Context
Bringing together 25 European partners, the project deployed platforms capable of hosting multiple critical applications on single 5G networks. This facilitated the shift from a "network as an asset" to a "network as a service" model, successfully proving that varying vertical industries can securely operate over shared, virtualized 5G infrastructure.
